Kenosi skidded to a stop at the shoreline. He had heard a splash just before he arrived and noted the rough ripples left by someone falling in. He watched a yellow color came up from the water and surfaced as a young leopardess.
"Ayomide!" Kenosi exclaimed, surprised. He padded a few pawsteps into the water. "What are you doing here??"

Ayomide saw the familiar greyish pelt of her friend. She swam to the shore, hauling herself onto land and plopped down, her fur soaking wet. "I tried to find Nuru, but I lost her scent trail. So I thought i'd go for a swim before I go" she snorted, stretching her back out and grooming herself.
Ayomide looked up at Kenosi "So do you live here?" she asked

Just as Ayomide had asked him that question, he seemed to be having major health problems. Her ears went forward as the male collapsed to his knees and soon, it looked as if he couldn't take anymore. A tear dropped from her eye, seeing the male in pain. She watched as his breaths grew raggedy and then, soon, came to a stop. In her mind, she might of gave the young adult a heart attack from making fast movement.
Ayomide's eyes grew a few tear drops before he leaned down to grab Kenosi's scruff and lifting him up slightly, his hind legs dragging on the ground before looking around and heading towards the hook. She'd set him in the water there.

Xeiga trotted into Clapperclaw territory, following the scent of lions. If Anan dared stray from his home alone, the hyena would rip his hide apart without hesitation. The leopon had betrayed his trust, and Xeiga was not one to forgive easily.

Ashur walked slowly into Clapperclaw lands, tense and ready for anything. Despite being as powerful as he was, he couldn't help but be nervous, alone in such an uncertain situation. He wished Ammit would have come with him, not at all being used to walking around alone. Some might call him childish for this fear, but hey, it was what had kept him alive for so long, despite being one of the most hated animals in Africa.
But his curiosity was more powerful than his fear. Tima was dead, and he didn't know who had killed him, and Ambergris was dead as well. He snorted at that thought. This never would have happened if she had just stayed in Sunbaked. She had been a fool.

Ammit had followed Ashur's scent trail, spotting the maned king in the distance. She trotted after him, not wanting to spook him. "Ashur, I changed my mind. I found Anan and the hyena some food, they'll be okay for now. I'll check on them again when we leave," she said, trotting up to his side. "I didn't feel right about letting you go alone... if Tima was killed, who knows what's going on here," she said, keeping her voice low.

At Ammit's words Ashur's ears had perked up and without another word he ducked his head beneath her to pick her up, like always. "Then we'll get home fast." Of course she could walk on her own, but if she was nearing birthing time, then she would likely be going slow. And anyway, Ashur was faster anyway. He'd get them home quickly.

Ammit let out a sharp exhale as Ashur lifted her, the pressure on her belly a bit uncomfortable. It wouldn't last too long, though, so Ammit rested her head in the male's mane again. It comforted her, and it also helped to distract her from her pain. "Thank you, Ashur," she said, nuzzling him. She didn't exactly mean for it to show affection, but nuzzling him also helped distract her.

Musoke walked for quite a long time before finally he came to a lake. Brightening, he rushed to the edge, lowering his head and lapping up the water. The cool liquid filled his stomach and he sighed in content, before stretching out his legs. It was so hot outside, and he'd been getting tired, but just that little bit of water had helped him regain energy. Shaking out his fur, he continued on. Maybe there'd be a female leopard further into the jungle.

Khalfani walked solemnly out of Softwood, stopping when he reached Lake Keto. Sighing, he sat down at the edge, leaning down to lap up the water, feeling the cool water slide into his stomach. Staring sadly down into his reflection, he laid down, spreading his legs out into the water to try and cool himself down as he wondered what he should do now. Before, each time he left, he had always planned to return to his mother. But now what? His son hated him. His mother was part of a pride that he couldn't be part of. There was nothing for him now.
Sighing once more, he lowered his head down onto her paws, his mouth going under the water though his nose stayed above the surface. He blew gently out of his mouth, watching the water bubble and imagining for just a moment that he was a cub again, and his mother was right behind him, watching him carefully to make sure his head didn't go under. For a moment he grew so hopeful that he had to raise his head and look back, but when he saw she wasn't there, he held back a whimper and rested his head down again, continuing to blow bubbles into the water.

Abeni followed Khalfani, quickly putting on a mask of concern. "Hey!" she called out, stopping a few feet away. "I, um, heard what happened and...basically, my dad's a dick. So, um, are you alright?" she said, pretending to be awkward and nervous. She wasn't either of those things, but acting came naturally to her, just as it had her mother.

Khalfani heard pawsteps approaching and he quickly sat up, biting back a growl when he heard who it was. THAT little self-entitled bitch. "Like father like daughter, huh?" He turned to glare at her, eyes narrowed. He saw how she was acting, and it would have been convincing had he not seen her behavior beforehand. The sudden change in attitude made no sense whatsoever and immediately had him suspicious. Just another way the girl was like her father. "I'm fine. Now what the hell do you want? Is your brother hiding up in the trees, getting ready for an ambush? I don't think that's gonna work."

Abeni shook her head, giving a rueful smile. "No, he's back at Softwood skinning Tima and Kenosi. I just wanted to make sure you weren't going to do something stupid, like drown yourself," she sat down, tail swishing. "Having your own kid say something like that to you has gotta hurt."
She was expecting this. After their fight and harsh exchange, it made sense that he'd be suspicious. "And I don't appreciate that implication, you aren't exactly the nicest cat either."

Khalfani curled back his lips in a silent snarl. He didn't want her saying ANYTHING about Solluxander. Standing up, he kept his muscles tense as he glared at her, pacing back and forth. "Nope, sure as hell ain't. I'm a solitary leopard. I'm not supposed to get along with other animals." He had had hopes, once, that he would continue living with his mother, and Nuru would join them, and Solluxander. But all of his hopes had been destroyed. If he was meant to be a solitary leopard, then so be it.
