Health: 72/72 Last Ate: Day 11
Kazimir was at a bit of a loss. Jasiri was so difficult to talk to, it was amazing. He gave a simple hum of acknowledgment, rolling onto his side and closing his eyes against the afternoon sun. "Good advice, at least," he chuckled, finally lapsing into silence. Well, fine, he wouldn't waste anymore energy on him, then. If he'd been allowed to, he probably would've found another place to sleep, but as it was the two of them were sort of confined to the edge of the Watch. Oh well. Hopefully the rest of the pride would return soon and give him some sort of distraction.

Another moment of silence washed over them, and Jasiri sighed as he rested his head on his paws, eyes narrowed as he stared toward the horizon. He could only imagine how his father and little siblings were doing. The adults were probably teaching them, training them. Or maybe they were playing while Dnali and Ammit took turns with Ashur, since they both seemed to be all over him. Jasiri sighed in annoyance, raising his head so that he could cross his front legs. "So why do you want to be in a pride anyway? Not like there's anything to do around here."

Oh, thank god. Now he wasn't the only one making an effort here. "I've been away for a very long time. I know how to fight, and I've done a lot more than I'd like, but hunting, territories...the ways of the wild, they're unfamiliar to me. I need to learn how to be a lion again, a proper, wild lion. And...being alone isn't all that great. I enjoy being around animals that aren't trying to rip my throat out," he had answered honestly, despite knowing it was an invitation for more questions. He wasn't sure whether or not he wanted to talk about the fighting ring.
It had been about a half a year since he was rescued. He and the others who made it out had done their best to forget, and to ignore, what they had been through. But now he was out in the wild again, away from humans, and it seemed distant. At least for the moment. He was laying in the warm sun, talking to another lion who was unlikely to try and hurt him; it seemed worlds away.

Jasiri's ears twitched, and now he was really curious. But not just that, suddenly he was reminded of Azikiwe again. This lion was not only stealing Jasiri's beloved friend's words, but now his history as well. Still, rather than get angry, he just frowned uncomfortably. And while he wanted to ask exactly where Kazimir had come from, for now, he held back. "Well if you don't want to be around animals that don't want to rip your throat out, perhaps you shouldn't be anywhere in the wild. There's always going to be someone who wants to kill you." He snorted and looked away, thinking of Askari.

Kazimir snorted, rather relieved that Jasiri hadn't asked. "What do you suggest, then? I go sit on some human's doorstep until they decide to keep me as a pet?" he snarked. "No, I'm fine with fighting. Enemies are a part of life. I just want a few friends as well." He lay his head on his paws, feeling a little prickly himself. It seemed Jasiri's attitude was rubbing off on him. Well, hopefully the kid didn't hate him.

Jasiri gave Kazimir an odd look before sighing and rolling his eyes. Perhaps the lion would be better off doing that. Sighing, he glanced off toward the horizon, ears flicked back. He snorted at Kazimir's comment about having friends, rolling his shoulders as he stretched. "Good luck with that." Jasiri himself had a hard enough time making friends within his own pride. Of course, that was more due to his negative attitude than anything else, but oh well.
