Creed resisted the urge to growl; outright hostility would do no good here. "Of course we'll leave, we have nothing further to gain here. Eagle, would you please take the kill back to our camp? We will be joining you shortly." He looked at Ashur with barely disguised contempt; his pack had caught the gazelle and he would not allow them to go hungry any longer. He didn't fancy his chances against two fully grown lions, but he couldn't just let this cocky male drive them off. He did, of course, know that Eagle was not up for fighting lions. She was the pack elder, and she deserved a full belly and rest. Though she was needed on hunts, Creed felt his older friend was exempt from fighting.

Health: 35/40 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Sunbaked Territory Lilly raised her hackles, separating her jaws to make a low growl as she revealed her fangs. She raised her neck and head but kept her body down as she slid into a pouncing position. She would defend her pack by herself with her life if she had to, and she would if she needed to!

Eagle looked at Creed, surprised. He wanted her to go? She took a few seconds to react, torn at the idea of leaving the other dogs behind. Even if it did mean that she'd be safe.
"Yes." Eaglehead finally obeyed and started taking steps backwards. Once the old girl was out of striking range, she turned away from the lions and trotted over to the carcass. Once there, she decided against wasting any time debating and picked up the gazelle by the neck and began dragging it away. Luckily it was a smaller animal so it wasn't impossible for the slender dog to pull along, but Eaglehead could also only move so fast with the animal in her mouth. It'd take her a bit to get somewhere safe.

Ashur was torn between being outraged that the dogs were still remaining and being pleased by the fact that the alpha had actually ordered one of them away. That would just make things easier for him if a fight started up. He only hoped that more of his pride would show up. After all, he and his one lioness were still outnumbered, and even if lions were more powerful than dogs, being outnumbered was never a good thing. "Think you're just going to wander onto my territory, steal food, and leave? Not only do you dogs lack honor and honesty, you are stupid."
He looked over the remaining dogs, trying to judge whether or not he and his one lioness could defeat him, should no one else appear. He was hungry after all, and so was his pride, but not only that, these dogs needed to pay. He glanced over at one of the females (Lilly) and saw her growling at him, and he snarled back at her. "I'd show a little respect when on another animal's territory, Mutt!"

"Well, you asked us to leave, didn't you? We're leaving, just as soon as our kill is safely out of your territory," Creed said, keeping his voice as neutral as possible before addressing his own pack. "Lilly, please remain in control of your teeth. No one is fighting yet." It was taking quite a bit of Creed's self control to stay calm in he face of the insults, but he had never been known for having a quick temper, and it would be far easier to escape with all of his soldiers in tact if they remained calm. Ashur was, of course, far stronger than any single dog, but if it came down to it their numbers allowed them to attack from all sides, and their speed could carry them away easily.
"I really don't enjoy being here, it's far to hot for my taste," Creed sighed, his pelt burning hot under the sun. "But in the face of starvation, even the most honorable animals can be driven to extremes." Creed eyed his pack-mates, Lilly, Ryan, and Isoke. They had a two to one advantage, plus their speed. If it came to a fight, they might make it out alright, though Creed wasn't really itching to wage war with lions.

He only watched through narrowed eyes as the alpha spoke, and he flicked his tail across the ground in quiet frustration. He always hated how lions thought so highly of themselves, when really even the oldest elder could take down more then them. Ryan flicked one ear slightly as the other spoke, and he nodded his head in agreement. "It will be nice to return to our territory, with fresh prey to eat." He started, before turning and dashing off to join Eaglehead.

Health: 35/40 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Sunbaked Territory Lilly looked at creed after his order and concealed her fangs. Not like he's showing respect to elders, that's for one thing! As much as she wanted to smack him upside the head, she tried to restrain herself as best as she could. Alpha's orders after all, she had to follow what he said. She slowly turned around and started walking after Eaglehead's scent trail, her tail flicking angrily.

Health: 45/45 Location: Sunbaked grasslands; yards away from Ashur and the dogs
One of the dogs was leaving and the damned cur was taking the food with it. It wasn't very much of a dinner and the lioness was certain that Ashur would get, well, the lion's share and take it all for himself but this lioness would be happy with that. Anything was better than dogs eating. Hell, if they didn't eat and starve then she would dine on dog just like she had walked all the way here hoping for.
She was clearly losing her patience with the dogs. Especially when they were looking to turn around and leave. The lioness let out a low growl and started padding toward Ashur and Creed. She wanted to be there and ready should she be commanded to serve these dogs punishment.

Health: 35/40 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Sunbaked Territory Lilly's ears perked up and she turned her head around "Creed can we go now? Like you said, it's best not to stir up some trouble if we can just take our leave with our fur attached" she snorted, her tail flicking back and forth. She can't leave her her alpha, Ryan, and Isoke but she can't just not defend Eaglehead. Sure she's strong but she has food that she also needs to defend and if some rogue animals were to team up on her, she wouldn't be able to defend herself AND the food.

Creed eyed the lioness warily, knowing her proximity to the group spelled danger. Really, this fight over the gazelle was silly. With part of it already eaten and its small size, it wouldn't fully feed even one lion, where in his pack it would feed Ryan, Lilly, and Isoke. Besides that these lions had not gone to the effort of tracking and killing the animal. Of course, trespassing was probably the more pressing issue, and Creed could not escape blame there. He had taken a risk by coming into a rival factions territory, and though it had been beneficial, there was always the chance of lion intervention.
"We will take our leave, yes," Creed replied. "Be on your gaurd, and Lilly, if you could go to Eagle that would be lovely." He did not turn his back to the lions, that would be foolish in any situation, but paced back a bit until he knew that if the lions moved to attack he would have sufficient time to react.

Eaglehead had to waddle a bit to make any progress with the gazelle. If she didn't, she would have tripped on the animal's body every other step. Slow and steady, she had made distance to safety. She decided against dragging through the dangerous Crossroads and instead took the long route to going straight from the Sunbaked Territory to the Painted Army where their borders touched.
When she could smell the clear scent of her own kind's border she couldn't help but grin, relieved. She could hear the female lion groaning in the distance. It wasn't good news for the other dogs but at least there would be food for them when they caught up!

Isoke may not have been the smartest dog out there, but she at least knew not to challenge the lion and kept her distance, looking as submissive as possible. She would have loved to just turn and rush after Eaglehead, but she wouldn't abandon the rest of her packmates just like that, no matter how scared. Still, when Creed finally said they could leave, she turned and rushed off after her elder, not even paying any mind to the fact that she was turning her back to the enemy. Hey, she was faster than a big, fat, clumsy lion! And she was just a little too eager to get away from the tense situation.
She had almost expected Eaglehead to go through the Crossroads, but luckily the dog caught her scent before she could go in the wrong direction, and rushed to catch up to Eaglehead.

As the dogs began to make their leave, Ashur curled his lips back in a halfways snarl, halfways smirk. As his lioness came up beside him, he couldn't help but dig his claws into the earth and tense his muscles, especially considering one of the dogs (Lilly) had already gotten a head start before the rest, and then the other female (Isoke) took off at a full spring as soon as she could. That left the one male (Ryan) and their leader closest to him. The lower male especially had been disrespectful to Ashur so he would have liked to take a bite out of him, but in the end, Creed was the alpha, and if he was to really punish the entire pack, what better way than to punish the alpha?
Glancing at his lioness once and licking his lips, as if to signal to her to get ready, he turned his attention back to the two dogs, then suddenly lunged straight for Creed, claws unsheathed, aiming to pin the disrespectful leader.
ifPXkfu4 (0 + 9 = 9. Geez, Ashur, all that big talk and you sucked ass.)

Creed had, of course, expected an attack from the temperamental male. He heard Ashur leap and forced his legs into quick motion, knowing he was faster and hoping to outrun the leaders leap.
TBxtQjMm ((4+8=12))
Creed smirked in satisfaction as he heard the lions' paws hit the ground where he had been standing. "How cowardly, attacking an enemy when their back is turned," He barked, keeping his pace to a fast trot as he left to rejoin his pack-mates. Even if the male pursued them, they would, as always, have the advantage of numbers.

Health: 35/40 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Sunbaked Territory Lilly smirked and started laughing as she took off, taking long strides as she ran "Can't even take an enemy when they aren't looking" she barked. She couldn't help but throw one insult at the leader, after he called Eaglehead a grandma! dirty lions! She ran, looking back to make sure Creed and Ryan were following in case the lions caught up with them, but she highly doubted it. African Wild dogs are much skinnier than chubby lions and their legs are long. Nobody got hurt except at the hunt with the gazelle, she could still feel the sting and ache in her cheeks but she tried to ignore it the best she could so she wouldn't slow down to stop it from hurting.
