The Sunbaked lioness let out a loud growl. Ryan was still in front of the two lions and damn if she didn't want at least one cur to feel pain. She bounded straight after the male African Wild Dog before lifting one paw into the air and bringing it down, claws unsheathed, at Ryan.

(8 + 5 = 13. If it does hit him, she's not aiming to pin him, just to smack him)

He was quick to react as he let out a hiss, and despite how fast he was, the blow across the shoulder. He jumped back with a yowl before turning to snarl at the lioness, but before he could do any attack against the other, he noticed the leader running off with the pack. He snarled once more at the lioness, before turning to follow behind the others.
i'm terribly sorry if i did something wrong; i have a hard time learning things aha :[ ))

(You're welcome to make a speed roll to see if you avoided the attack. It'd be your dice roll + an african wild dog's speed - 1 (because your flaw is "Nightowl") and if the total is 14+, then you'd evade it. If it were 13 and lower, then you'd be injured. You're welcome to also do as you did and take the hit without rolling. You'd take 13 damage. )

Health: 35/40 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Sunbaked Territory Lilly made sure to kick up some dust and dirt at the lions as she was running. He heard a yowl and stopped, she whipped around to see the lioness attack Ryan. Before she could come to his aid, he ran away from the lioness. Lilly slowly started to run again, making sure to keep her focus on Eaglehead's scent trail

Health: 45/45 Last Ate: Day 0 Location: Southern Sunbaked Territory -> Nearing Ashur STRENGTH: 8 SPEED: 3 DEFENSE: 2 ABILITY: 1
Everything seemed to be peaceful in the southern Sunbaked. Peaceful and empty. Or so one would think. The calm waters of one of the Sunbaked's watering holes stirred and slowly from the depths came a white lioness with a dispassionate look on her wet face. She stood in a deeper spot of the pool for a while, enjoying the cool waters before finally wading to the bank to call it quits for now.
Once she reached the water's edge, without even shaking, the young lioness flopped into the wet, muddy ground. She twisted and turned to her heart's content before standing up completely covered in the dark, sloppy stuff. Only her yellow eyes and a pinch of white on her muzzle remained and that's how she liked it. She gave a small smile to her new unclear status before finally padding away from the watering hole.
Now, Ambergris wasn't an oblivious lion, oh no. She could smell blood, Ashur and the Painted Army all mixing into one to the north of her. She was fairly certain in fact that he could have really used her assistance. How Ambergris would LOVE to have given him some help making mincemeat out of the little doggies but it was hard to convince Ambergris to go anywhere when she was white. She wasn't happy if she wasn't covered in mud. Made up all 'nice and pretty', Ambergris could finally go and see what all the fuss was about and if Ashur was still alive or if she'd have to trade his corpse to the hyenas for something more delicious in return.
Ambergris trotted off happily and energetically to where Ashur's smell was coming from.
"Ashur, ooooh, Ashuuuurr?" Ambergris called out sweetly as she walked through the tall grass, "Are you alive or are you dead, Ashur?"

Ashur, frustrated at his failure to punish the alpha dog, snarled angrily to himself but felt just a bit of his pride come back when he saw the lioness successfully strike one of the other dogs. He nodded his praise to her, smiling almost kindly, or as kind as he could get, when Ambergris finally showed up. He growled lowly as he turned to face her. "Alive. Though we might've had a few dead dogs to eat had you shown up a few minutes earlier." He looked over his lioness' muddy body, disapproving. He didn't really care if she wanted to walk around muddy all the time, aside from the fact that it made him not really want to mate with her, considering he loved his mane too much to get it all dirty just for the sake of having a few extra brats running around, but also, if it was going to stop her from getting to him on time, then yes, he was going to have a problem with it. "I'll assume you had to stop by a waterhole first to pretty yourself up for the pack, huh?"

"Of course I 'prettied' myself up. Unless you can assure me that they'd ALL be dead then I have no regrets." Ambergris responded innocently. She could clearly see the angry look on his face. Ashur wanted those damn cur dead, they had trespassed and made a mockery of this lion king.
"Besides, they aren't going anywhere." Ambergris added on with a shrug and a crooked smile. "If those dogs like having their bellies full then we'll use that against them. They'll be so wrapped up in hunting again that they won't realize that THEY have become the hunted."
Ambergris held her head high and happily, trotting around Ashur on energetic paws. All the while she sang something along the lines of:
"I'll make them bleed and I'll make them squeal. They won't be dead until it's pain they feel~!"

The lioness didn't chase the dog after she struck it. She merely watched, content, as the hurt dog scrambled off to catch up with his packmates. Good riddance. The lioness looked proud as any other would, especially when Ashur looked at her with pride. However when Ambergris showed up, she had no interest in staying. She didn't care one way or the other for Ambergris but if Ambergris was here, then she could be elsewhere, making sure those damn dogs don't slither back in.
She snorted and looked to Ashur once more. "I'll be around watching the borders." She said obediently with his dominance in mind before turning away and walking off, disappearing into the golden grass.

Ashur couldn't help it as the corner of his mouth twitched upwards slightly in amusement at Ambergris' singing. He nodded at the older lioness, reminding her to call out if she saw anything, even though such a reminder wasn't really needed, before turning back to the muddier lioness. "Oh, we'll make them squeal, all right. If they think it's okay to come onto our territory to hunt, then surely there is nothing wrong with us going onto their territory to hunt, now is there?" He grinned maliciously. Usually Ashur was a very honorable leader, at least when it came to his neighbors. He made sure to keep to his territory so long as everyone else kept to theirs. However, if anyone broke the laws he had made up for himself and others (He lived with the delusion that in reality, he ruled all the lands. He was the real life Lion King.) then there would be punishment. Anyway, he would love to get his claws into that alpha, maybe that little bitch that had been snarling at him, too. And it would bring him great joy to see his lioness finish the job she had started with that other male.
But while Ambergris seemed more than eager, he couldn't help but sigh in frustration. "Yet when I roar three times on our OWN territory, only two come to my aid, and one of them a few minutes too late! How can we expect to invade another if we can't even protect our own home?"

Ambergris snickered, seeing Ashur's hidden delight. Oooh, he sought blood. She knew he had that in him. Then again, did it really take a violent man to want to seek out revenge on cur like that? Maybe it was just a lion way of thinking but everyone Ambergris knew would say it was completely fair! Even if all she knew were lions.
She shrugged lightly when he got angry again. "To be fair, I thought you only roared once. I was already at the watering hole, swimming, when I heard you calling. I can't hear a thing when I'm underwater." It sounded rather convenient but it was the truth. Not it was a good one by most lions' standards, she could have been searching the territory for food instead but Ambergris knew a wild goose chase when she saw one.
"I'll hear you next time." Ambergris added on confidently. A cold look was in her eyes, the wheels in her head starting to view the dogs like others might view gazelle. After a moment, Ambergris turned her view to the south where the Barrens Territory was, far in the distance.
"I've got an idea actually. What do you think of us informing the Queen of the Barrens the next time we run into her that the dogs are scoundrels? I think if we can convince her to give us a whoop when she sees them, the dogs won't suspect it being a calling card for us." Ambergris wasn't a diplomatic cat usually and wasn't very good at it even if she were to try it now but she had to suspect that anyone could be happy with less competition, even if it meant hyenas and lions having a secret agenda. Ambergris wasn't very honorable and that was clear by that proud smirk on her face. Whatever got the job done and got whoever she wanted splattered across the grasslands.

Ashur didn't look at all amused as Ambergris gave her excuse, but he sighed and decided not to dwell on it for now. When she brought up the hyena queen, though, he raised a brow in confusion. "Except I don't think they'll run into each other very often. It's not like the hyenas share a border with the dogs." And plus, Ashur might just be a tiny bit racist. Or a lot. Even when it came to their rival pride, the Clapperclaws, Ashur tended to look down on all others. Still, the hyenas were certainly a force to be reckoned with when they came in numbers. "Well... with prey so low lately, who's to say the hyenas aren't looking for another source of food?" He doubted it would work, convincing the hyenas to team up with his pride and make prey out of the dogs. Why should the hyena queen waste time hunting dogs who were far away when they could just as easily find prey closer to home? Sighing, he shrugged. "Well, no harm in offering our 'help' should they ever encounter dogs." But then he frowned and looked over Ambergris, his expression somewhat annoyed. "Although, if we are to approach the hyenas, you might want to look more presentable."

Ambergris flattened her ears when Ashur brought up the flaws in her plan. Damn, she hadn't thought about those things. But who wouldn't want to eat a painted dog? They sure weren't going to give you a fuss like eating most other predators would, they're little scrawny mongrels. Ambergris was WAY more scared by a yappy human dog than those calico-colored dinners. Besides, they trespassed to catch food, that wasn't going to win them any favors with anyone, Ambergris knew that. Hopefully the Hyenas would agree.
Even though Ashur seemed to be going along with her scheming, Ambergris couldn't help but raise her lip in disgust when Ashur mentioned her appearance. Ugh, she hated the idea of anyone seeing her without mud, especially hyenas but the hyenas were more liable to listen to Ashur and Ambergris about the moral abominations that were the Painted Army if Ambergris didn't look like an insane murderer.
"Fine." Ambergris growled and started to storm away from Ashur, heading south for the watering hole. "I'll clean up but the mud's going RIGHT back on before we do any sort of hunting!"
