Note: Breaking the rules may result in a warning. However if you don't understand why a rule is in place, you're welcome to ask and bring forth your point!
The Bold is the rule. The text after that is an explanation and specifics about the rule.
♦ Follow the mechanics made in "How to Play" (most importantly the Game Mechanics thread) to the best of your ability. If you need assistance, just ask someone.
♦ Please give time for other players you're conversing with to respond & respect that other people have work, school or different time zones than you.
♦ You must reply to a fight within 30 hours.Aka if someone bites you at 12PM, you've got until 6PM the next day to respond. Failure to follow means that the person waiting for you can win (or otherwise end) the fight however they see fit. It is up to them.
♦ Tip: Use the Colosseum for practicing fights to your advantage. As well as the Roleplay Planning area too!
♦ It is now required that you put your stats in your signature. (Not required for children.)
♦ Death will happen & others do NOT require your permission to kill your character via battle.
*Death will happen and while a player can wait to get your permission to kill your character, it is NOT mandatory. If they deplete your health (check "How to Play" mechanics for more information) then it is up to them (or a rescue party) to decide your fate. However if you really liked that character in general, you can make a new animal with the same personality, etc. Also contact staff when your character dies. 50% of your posts of a dead character can be transferred, aka you won't have to start from scratch! (see "How to Play" mechanics for more information)
♦ Love & Romance is allowed, but keep it PG
*You are welcome to roleplay a romance both between your own species or interspecies. You're welcome to have a heterosexual, homosexual, etc romance. However love is not instant so please refrain from that. Also, keep it PG as in kissing and cuddling is allowed but if your characters are going to do the beast-with-two-backs then fade to black.
♦ Mating/Breeding is allowed
*You can mate/breed without love, which is why these rules are two different things. Mating/Breeding makes for pregnancy and new members of your faction; it's important and welcomed. Your characters, like normal animals, do not need to go on dates to mate/breed but keep in mind the "How to Play" mechanics that might affect your mating/breeding. As with Love, fade to black when actually taking part in mating. Birthing can be roleplayed but shouldn't go into anything over PG stuff. Think the birthing scene from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. You can not mate with non-existent animals, they must be players or NPCs.
♦ Roleplay from a Third Person Point of View!
*Example: "He jumped onto a rock" and/or "Jason jumped onto a rock".
♦ No Spamming
♦ No one liners allowed, unless you are currently in the middle of battle or are otherwise in a situation in which it is difficult to write a lot (i.e. attempting to swim over and over again).
I understand that sometimes it can be difficult to write a whole lot, and I am not requiring anyone to write big paragraphs with each post. This role play is, after all, focused on survival. However, from now on, no one liners will be allowed. You can write more than that.
♦ Mark your OOC talk!
*As in, if you're speaking OOC (out of character) then you should make it obvious it is out of character. Use (), {}, [], //\\, ooc:, or whatever your preference is. Just as long as it's clear.
♦ No "oh how lucky!" Finds
*Food is scarce. That is the nature of Predators at War (or else they wouldn't be at war now would they?) so food will be clearly limited. You will NOT be finding a random Okapi or something and if you do approach prey, they will be a battle in themselves. You can FAIL a hunt.
♦ No Godmodding, Mary/Gary Sues. No Psychic or future-seeing characters, that is cheap to do..
♦ Consider your character's design carefully and act/design (at least) semi-realistically
*No winged hyenas, tiger striped lions or purple dogs but you are allowed to have some wiggle room with markings/colors. Example: Blue-eyed AWD character "Nneka",
♦ The leader of your faction is IN CHARGE
*When it boils down to it, if you leader says no to something. Like forbids a romance or whatnot, then that isn't against the rules. It is in the roleplay however so feel free to have a secret romance. Leaders are the ones to decide if a solitary or rogue animal is accepted into the faction and if you're officially kicked out. If you're kicked out, you'll become a rogue animal. All of this is roleplayed and as such, when a leader dies, it is not the player's next character that's in charge but who, in-character, would be next in line for the role.
♦ Children are picked by the MOTHER (unless there is only a father)
*When your animal has young, you are welcome to roleplay them yourself, just have them added to the misc size (aka you increased the size of your faction but a new character may use that # without being blood related to you, this is the default) OR someone can make a character can be your child. They must get permission from the mother (or father if the mother is dead). It is also up the parent of if they choose the child's names/sex or if that's up to the person creating the new character. Children, unless mutated (ex. albino) should look like the proper offspring of their parents.
♦ You must log in once every 2 weeks. Otherwise, your character may die of starvation.
* If you fail to log onto a character every 14 days, then your character will be killed off and moved to the Orbituaries. However, if you know you're going to be busy for longer than 2 weeks, make sure to let us know in the 'AFK' board! Failure to do this will result in your character's death, and even if you say afterward you were on vacation, that won't change anything. It only takes a minute to make a thread to let everyone know you'll be gone.
♦ You may NOT use other peoples' artwork as your profile picture unless you were given direct permission by the original artist. If you are caught stealing art, you will first be given a warning, and if you refuse to change it, you will then be punished.
♦ It's a game so have fun!
