Counter: 20 Black Kettle Members LeftCurrently In-Charge:No one in particular Dominant:-- Commoners:Pall Asenath Kakra Lowly:-- Other Residents:-- Deceased:-- The TerritoryThe Black Kettle may be a group of ragged-looking vultures but that does not mean their home stretch is disgusting! They perch themselves high in the mountains north of the Clapperclaw pridelands. The region is difficult for others to navigate, making it easy for them to actually keep a territory of their own like this. The region ranges from soft hilly jungles up to snow-swept mountain tops.

Territory RegionsThe LowlandsThe Lowlands and while they do consider it part of the Black Kettle territory, it isn't the birds' favorite location. The land here is hilly and higher up than many other regions nearby but it is thick jungle and the vultures have a hard time seeing through the canopy from above. In fact the canopy is so thick that it hides small streams and shallow pools that many animals could easily miss. Even underneath the canopy the land is hard to navigate as even on the brightest day, it is not sunny in the Lowlands, it is always dark. Still, the warm air and the thick greens make it a nice change of pace for many of the Black Kettle birds that need a break from rocks and mountain peaks. "Nightowl" is never in affect in the Lowlands. Coldpoint PeaksThe point in the Black Kettle lands where the mountains peak so high that they are not simply cold or flurried with snow, but are susceptible to heavy snowfall. It's quite the contrast for many animals but from up here the keen-eyed vultures can see quite the distance and watch over their domain. While it is chilly near the top, the mountain is covered and nice, safe ledges and small caves where the vultures can keep their young safe from the attack of heat-loving, land-loving predators. Non-flying animals must climb to get here. Cliffside VenueCliffside Venture is considered the homebase of sorts for the Black Kettle. The air is cool here but not to an extreme. Their backs are too a massive source of water which should you be foolish enough to wander this way, the vultures may just chuck you off from! It is certain death! Here the mountains are rocky but still have plenty of green from hardy trees and plantlife. Although never to the point that the vultures cannot see what is below them. It is the perfect location if you asked a vulture. Non-flying animals must climb to get here.

Culture of the Black Kettle
øThe vultures once scavenged through the Crosslands but when the food shortage happened they stopped and sought out other locations to the North. Now that the food seems to be back, the birds have returned to seeking food in the Crosslands.
øThe Black Kettle has a collection of many different vultures from many different places. It is however a faction that has existed for a while, accepting other vultures in a friendly manner as they see the value in having more eyes and wings working together.
øThe Black Kettle never fought for the land they currently own. It was simply unowned and a coincidence that the birds all found it convenient to collect there. However they consider it their beloved homelands now and would defend it.
øThe Black Kettle does not have a single, or pair of designated leaders. They often rotate who is in charge and view a bird backing down from their position as nothing shameful. In fact they view a leader holding their position for too long to be selfish to the other birds. Temporary leaders are from the Commoner and Dominant ranks, moreso the Dominant ranks, and is picked from whomever voluntarily wants to be leader at that time.
øWhile they will defend their territory from rivals, the Black Kettle has never rejected animals from entering their lands, especially herbivores and solitary creatures. They view them as future meals and wait with baited breath for them to die. Sometimes they will attempt to sabotage the animals' life but never in order to kick them out.
øThe Black Kettle has traditionally viewed the Jackals, and now their newly made Confederacy, as rivals.
øIntruders on the Cliffside Venue are not uncommonly pushed off the cliffs to die from the fall into the great water body below. The Black Kettle will do this too to detainees sentenced to death.
