Sooo the Barrens clan throughout most of this has been the most passive and lazy of the clans. They've had the least amount of drama. ehm. And as of late I have been hearing a lot out of you guys about your hyena characters. I haven't heard complaints about Kayode, Yejide or Lily but Nakato and Yanni are very close to being discarded. I think I recall the roleplayer for Ige saying that Ige was a likely discardable character should they need to discard one. Honestly Kabili is likely my most discardable character too xD;
I don't expect an immediate change for the Barrens clan, there's a lot of other things that may happen first but I did want to make some possible suggestions for their future should we continue down this road:
1. The Barrens Clan is run by children. This is under the assumption that Yanni, Raena, Kabili and Ige are killed off (or at least half are). The children, left on their own, decide that adults are irresponsible and unreliable and thus give rule no longer to one gender (previously girls) but to the children. When they grow up, they step down and a new leader comes into charge. The adults becoming child-worshipping soldiers. Not that the adults are without heart or spirit, in fact they'd likely strongly remain children at heart. It's just they would be accepting that the children are better rulers. The clan would be more strange with their decisions with other factions, wars or intruders, likely making games out of everything.
2. The Barrens Clan intentionally becomes a peacekeeper. They allow others into their lands that need refuge and do not participate in wars to pick a side or get the upper hand but instead with the intention of keeping peace and preventing horrors like what happened to Yanni from happening again to someone else. They'd be kind of the cops of the land, only using force to protect those who desperately need protecting. (of course there can still be some high and mighty dicks in the bunch)
3. Under the assumption that something happens to Yanni or Raena (wouldn't have to be death) but not quite needed for something else to happen to the others: They become even more lazy than ever. They become intoxicated with hedonism and fun. They lounge around, usually only getting up to eat or breed. They do not want to participate in wars but are by no means peacekeepers either. In fact they may become selfish in their desire for luxury. They may detain others again but this time for sport; pitting animals against each other for prizes and freedom.
