Ammit nodded at Ashur's response, falling in line behind the male as usual. She was a bit worried about all possible dangers that could be lurking here. The Camp's thick air had a habit of hiding scents, and who knows what could be just on the other side of the treeline. "Right behind you," she said, looking every direction as she walked. A few birds fluttered above, chirping and screeching every few moments, but Ammit found it to be quite peaceful.

Alibaster dove in after the others, catching up quickly. He failed to notice the lions that had just entered the island, but instead focused on swimming alongside his companions.

Ashur, on the other hand, didn't find it at all peaceful. Mostly he was just annoyed by the heat and the air. Still, he was calm, if tense, as he walked along the edge of the Camp, but then he swore he heard splashing. Ears perked, he crouched down and started moving in that direction. "Stay hidden. I hear something." He moved quickly but silently over toward the sound, and when he saw it, he bit back a growl. He could see a few shapes disappearing into the dense foliage of the Morass, and the last figure to disappear, he could tell, was a leopard. Leopards had come onto his territory.
Growling, he raised his head, and let out a deafening roar. "Stay out of my territory!" He could have easily swam after the leopard if he had wanted to, but for now, he was staying back. But if he ever saw another animal on his land again, he would not be so forgiving. And if he'd known his enemy was with that group, he might have done so now. But as it was, he let it go, though he was growling lowly.

Ammit instantly fell low to the ground at Ashur's words, following behind him. She didn't know what he was growling at until she looked. Leopards. Ashur let out a roar, and Ammit glared at them as they made their way out of the Camp. Once they were out of sight, she turned to Ashur. "Should we watch them for a bit? Who knows where they're going or what they're up to," she growled, looking at the king with mild concern.

Ashur snorted, shaking out his mane in agitation. "Mmhm. We should-" But he was cut off by a familiar scent. Brow raised, he turned and walked to the center of the Camp, following after the smell, and when he finally found the source, his shoulders slumped. Askari, his body shredded and partially eaten. He supposed it should have been expected, as he had kicked out his son while he was near death. And a part of him thought that maybe his idiot son deserved it. But it still hurt to see Askari, who had one been his pride and joy, laying dead like this. Sighing, he sat down and lowered his head, grieving silently, just like he did with every child of his that passed.

The lioness was about to stand again when Ashur's words came to a sudden half. She followed a bit further behind him, not knowing what he was going after. Her amber eyes then fell upon Askari's body, stiff and cold in the mud. Ammit watched helplessly as Ashur sat down, clearly upset with the circumstances, as he had every right to be. She sat down a ways behind him, not sure what to do. Her earlier gestures were not taken well, and she didn't want to annoy the king during such a low moment. So Ammit stayed back, sitting down a few yards from Ashur, watching him silently, helplessly.

Ashur grieved over his son for a minute or so, but as always, it didn't last long. Some might have considered him heartless, but as a king to a pride, he dealt with death often, and he had learned to move past it quickly and easily, so long as he allowed himself a moment to mourn the loss. Sighing, he stood and turned back to Ammit. "It would have happened sooner or later, with his attitude. Even if his wounds had healed completely." He glanced back at Askari, then glanced at Ammit again, brow raised. "I'm surprised you're taking this so well." After all, she had been prepared to run away with his son before.

Ashur was up within a very short matter of time, Ammit quite surprised at how quickly he grieved. Of course, Ashur probably wasn't done grieving, but he was finished with the visible signs. When he spoke, she sighed a bit, looking over to Askari's body with pity. "After seeing the way he spoke to his brother and fought him, I don't think I could have forced myself to even look at him again," she murmured, mesmerized at the fact that Askari was alive a few days prior to their current encounter.
"I am truly sorry for your loss, Ashur. It really is my fault, what with everything going awry," she added, lowering her head a bit shamefully.

Ashur grunted in response, still not completely sure he believed her but also not all that worried about her trying to leave now. After all, she was pregnant with his cubs. "I've already lectured you about that, and I won't do it again." That was all he had to say about that, and he walked back over to the shore, where the leopards had disappeared to. Or, were going to disappear to. The one leopard still seemed to be having issues. Grunting, he sat down, licking his lips. If she washed back to shore, he'd be waiting for her.

Ammit nodded at Ashur's response, knowing full well that the male still didn't trust her too much. She watched as he walked back down to the shore, the lioness deciding the follow but again keep her distance a bit. "Looks like she's struggling. A lesson learned," she said, narrowing her eyes at the intruder. "She'd make a fine rug for my cubs," she murmured, eyeing the beautiful pelt on the female.

Nuru heard the roar, a shiver creeping down her spine. She hadn't known this territory was claimed! Still, it appeared she wasn't being pursued, so the young female simply swam as fast as she could.

Ashur snorted, smirking as the leopard hurried up and left. "Perhaps later. She got lucky for now." Sighing, he stretched out his legs before sitting down. "Anyway, maybe she'll have the sense to warn any friends that this is Sunbaked lands now, and they need to stay off of it." Sighing, he turned and headed back toward the center of Camp. he had noticed it before, but being so preoccupied with Askari, it hadn't really registered in his mind, but there was a hyena carcass here. "Well, I suppose there's one good thing. They brought us food." But he sat down, looking to Ammit. "You eat it."

Agalia had finally made it to camp, water was over her nostrils which blocked her smell senses. She was breathing through her mouth, panting and collapsed, unaware that there was a very big king lion and a pregnant lioness

Ammit growled in frustration as the leopard made it across the river, her claws digging into the warm mud. "Damn! I was really wanting to slaughter that pest," she grumbled, turning to follow Ashur. Her anger was soon put back down when the male showed her a hyena carcass. Her eyes lit up, but before she lowered her head to eat, she looked back to Ashur. "Only if you eat as well," she murmured, finally leaning down and tearing apart the hyena's haunches.
