Ofure quickly swam to Camp, breathing heavily from the hard swim. She let the lion fall onto the ground, a huge weight coming off her shoulders. Whether or not that pup didn't like her, she had to get him transferred to camp, because her pack mates certainly weren't moving.
She dove back in, swimming towards Leopard Grove again.

Nneka pulled herself to shore, panting. She didn't realize Ofure was leaving, and she simply grabbed the lion's carcass and pulled it further into Camp before dropping it and laying down. She was exhausted, but she was smiling. They were finally home. And yet, it didn't really feel like it anymore. She didn't have Creed. Chizoba was dead. Ofure was a disappointment.
Lifting her head, she turned and gently nosed her belly. Hopefully these pups would be strong, and help her bring the Painted Army back from the brink of extinction.

Last Ate: Day 10 Health: 60/60
Kojo pulled himself onto shore after the long journey, his fur soaked and paws caked with mud. He missed the feeling of the Delta's water and mud, and despite how ragged he looked, Kojo gladly accepted the filth. It cooled him, the dog panting as he approached the others.
The male walked towards Nneka, seeing her nose her belly. His pups were surely growing strong in her belly, and he offered her a kind smile. "Home isn't the same anymore, but we'll rebuild it," he said, optimistic about their future.

Nneka snorted, resting her head down. "Hopefully, if dogs don't keep on defying me. You know things wouldn't be like this if Creed had just listened to me, for once in his life... I TOLD him we should have just gone home, and not gone taken the damn hyena princess... but he never listened." Her expression turned sad, and she pulled a paw over her face. She wasn't crying, not yet, but she looked like she was about to. Despite her words, she still loved Creed, and her heart ached for him, and their daughters. Chizoba was gone. And little did she know, Ofure was gone now, too.

Kojo looked on sadly as Nneka vented her frustrations. Creed was indeed a wonderful alpha, and Kojo would not deny that. He approached her cautiously, dipping his head low before sitting in front of her. "Creed was an incredible alpha, Nneka. He would want you to stay strong and carry on the pack. And that is what we must do. We will rebuild this pack from the ground up, and we'll always keep Creed in mind as we do," he said, hoping to cheer her up a bit.

Nneka shook her head. "He was a good friend. Not a good alpha." He had always been either too kind, or too harsh. There was never any inbetween. But either way, he hadn't made good decisions. Always splitting the pack, and then bringing the hyenas even further into the war by taking Yanni prisoner, and all of this Nneka had protested against, but he never listened... no, he had never been a good leader, in her mind. But she had still loved him, and was still loyal to him. "But I'll lead without him. I'll bring the pack back. I just... I just need to have these pups." She looked at her stomach, which as getting bigger and bigger. She hoped that at the very least, it would be a bigger litter. They needed numbers.

Kojo frowned a bit at her words, knowing she had probably seen the worst of it while he was gone. But at her last sentence, his grin grew wide, his tail wagging a bit. "That's the spirit! We've got to keep our heads up. We need to stay alert and focus on our pack's recovery," he encouraged, leaning over to nuzzle her cheek quickly. He pulled back immediately, knowing she might not take well to his gesture.

Nneka didn't really know how to respond to his nuzzle. She was determined to stay loyal to Creed, if not physically then emotionally, but she was silently craving some comfort, so after a moment of hesitation she turned to nuzzle her face into his chest before resting her head on his front legs. "Yeah. The pack will grow. It'll take a while, but I'll make sure we'll survive." She just hoped she'd be able to keep that promise.

Zuberi was glad that Food-Holder was gone; she and Growl-Death were both scary! They kept touching him! He followed Growl-Death and the other male, whom he hadn't given a name yet, onto the island. He sat at the very edge, wet and shivering with his tail tucked between his legs. He seemed to be perpetually shaking, much like a chihuahua.

Kojo hadn't exactly expected his gesture to go over so well with Nneka. He didn't even know if she could technically be called his mate! He wondered briefly what was going through her head... probably betrayal. The female and Creed had been so close, it had to have killed her to have another male's pups. He frowned a bit at the thought, ears falling, until she rested her head on his paws.
"We'll all work together for the good of the pack. We just have to be patient," he said kindly, giving the female a smile. Kojo didn't know how to feel; everything felt out of place. Here he was, his alpha pregnant with his pups, his pack torn apart. He leaned down and licked Nneka's cheek, expecting a smack.

Surprisingly, Nneka didn't smack him. Even more surprising, she actually sighed, an almost content sigh, and she closed her eyes, trying to force herself to relax despite the pain in her heart. She could almost sense Zuberi's presence not too far away from them, but she tried to pay it no mind. She still felt as though she were betraying Creed, in a way, but after all she'd been through, she wanted to at least give herself this tiny bit of pleasure. So she cuddled closer to Kojo, just a little.
But before she could get too comfortable, she suddenly felt kicking in her stomach, and she lifted her head quickly, only to knock it on Kojo's jaw. "Sorry! I just... the pups are kicking. Really hard." She winced a little at the feeling, but as she turned to look at her stomach, she couldn't help but smile, just a little. Hopefully this was a sign that they would be strong.

Last Ate: Day 10 Health: 60/60
Kojo was relieved to see that he had not been attacked by his alpha. In fact, she almost seemed to enjoy his affections! Kojo was surprised, but he couldn't help but smile down at her when she wasn't looking. But that smile was wiped right off his face when her head came crashing into his jaw, the male scrambling back with a sharp whine. He was about to growl, but Nneka explained why she had done that. Her pups were kicking.
His tail wagged furiously, the male approaching and sniffing cautiously at her belly. Kojo had the widest, goofiest grin on his face as he looked at her swollen belly. "That means they're healthy! A-and... almost... here... ALMOST HERE!" he said, nearly panicking at the last word. "I don't know what to do! Oh gods, please tell me you know how to do this," he said, forgetting the fact that she had indeed given birth before.

Now Nneka let out a very low growl. "I've done this before. Don't worry." She groaned softly in pain. The kicking, while uncomfortable, hadn't been painful, but now there was a sharp pain in her abdomen, and she rolled onto her side, panting. "Just be ready to clean them off once they're out, and put them near my stomach. I'd do it myself, but..." She'd rather focus on just not screaming in pain. This was probably the one thing she didn't like about pregnancy. Actually giving birth.

Kojo's ears flattened at her growl, knowing he was probably more of an irritation to her than a source of comfort. "S-sorry! Okay, let's see... I can do that, yeah!" he said nervously. He walked around to her belly, sitting down. Poor Kojo was clueless. He took a deep breath, readying himself. "Okay, we got this. C'mon, Nneka, you're strong!" he said calmly, smiling kindly as he looked at her.
