Anan's ears pinned back, but the cub didn't seem scared. He seemed curious. Frowning, he sighed and mumbled, "I'm, uhh... I'm Anan. I'm a leopon. My mom was a lion, and my dad was a hybrid between a lion and a leopard." If he had just looked a little more like Ambergris, like Chinyere or Abeni, then he might have just said he was a lion. But as it was, he looked far too much like his father to pass off as a lion.
Glancing upward to the two caracals, he looked at them curiously. "What're your names?"

Nukpani raised a brow as she learned that he was, indeed, a hybrid. But of a lion and a leopard? The two species tended to hate one another, never adjusting to each other's lifestyle. Usually, the pair mated and went on their merry way. She had yet to see a companionship between the bigger cats.
"Anan... somewhat fitting for you," she said, a little friendlier this time. Boy, isn't she just the nicest? Nukpani narrowed her eyes slightly, tilting her head. "I'm Nukpani, and this is Kajakafwile," she answered, sitting down carefully.

Kajakafwile's eyes brightened as Anan introduced himself and explained what exactly he was. A hybrid? That sounded interesting! He sure looked interesting too, many variations of reds and oranges jotted along his coat. The little kitten wished he had a coat as interesting as his!
As his mother sat down behind him, the kit curled up against her scrunched up stomach fluff. "It's nice to meet you Anan! Where'd you come from?" the caracal kitten asked, his head tilted.

Anan frowned, not sure of what to think of her comment about his name. So instead he pushed the thought away and just nodded as the mother introduced herself and her son. The cub, Kajakafwile, spoke up then and he smiled awkwardly at him, though he frowned at the question. "Far away." He didn't want to explain exactly where, and why he had left, but he sighed and looked back. "Across the river." He turned back to the mother and son, ears pinned back. "What about you guys?"

Still unsure of this stranger, Nukpani allowed her son to speak. However, when the hybrid refused to give a direct answer, her suspicion only grew stronger. "You smell of lions," she said lowly, tail flicking angrily. "We come from the other side of the river as well," she said, still keeping their exact location a secret. Though she figured Kajakafwile would eventually blow their cover.
