Chinyere made his way into the Tallhair Savanna. He looked into this side of the river.....he just wanted to get home! He wanted to climb into a tree and....take a nap! He lumbered forward, walking towards the river. It seemed calmer here. Maybe he could swim here? XUNRkiq_

Taking second thoughts, he quickly climbed onto shore. He had to get home before anything tried to hunt him! Ashur could be here o-or some leopards or rogue lions! He made a dash into Hyena territory, hoping to get through quickly.

Jasiri simply grunted in response, deciding against explaining how the wounds had come to be. He and Askari had very nearly killed each other, and would have succeeded had Ashur not gotten in the way.
It didn't take them long to get to the savanna, and when they did, Jasiri gently set his mother down, looking down at her sadly. He briefly wished he could have found her a more... beautiful resting place, he could say. But then he figured that wouldn't have been fitting for her. She hadn't been beautiful. She had been rough and stern. But he still loved her, all the same.
"Right here is fine. They'll feed the scavengers, and then the scavengers won't be tempted to step over the border in search of food." That was how the Sunbaked worked, after all. Death gives life.

Kazimir followed behind Jasiri, letting Azikiwe's body slip off his back and onto the ground. He didn't feel much sorrow for them, especially not Azikiwe since he would have been a rival, but the lioness was pretty sad. "Smart," he commented. Honestly, he was feeling a little peckish, having gone without food since being released. Ah well, he'd be allowed to eat one of these days.
"What were their names?" he asked, sitting down. He was prepared to leave once his guard was ready, but he figured that asking about the lost loved ones might help him 'bond' with the kid.

Jasiri didn't really want to talk about them. He was still upset over Azikiwe, and seeing his mother's body caused his throat to tighten up, but eventually he just sighed. "Azikiwe," he nodded to the male's body, "and Vita." He looked down at his mother's body, ears back. He might have liked to lay down and mourn his mother other, and for that matter, all of his littermates. He was all that was left of Vita's one and only litter. But he didn't want to show weakness in front of this male, so finally he just sighed and stood up straight. "Alright. We can head back now."

Kazimir looked at the bodies, waiting a moment before standing up again. "Alright," he said, nodding. Now that he knew the way, he padded ahead of Jasiri quite lazily, his body relaxed and his jaw hanging open to taste the air as he moved. Despite his missing toe and stumpy tail, he moved with surprising grace. He wasn't as muscular as the other males here, having spent a few months taking it easy and being treated for various diseases and parasites in human care, but he wasn't fat either.
The early morning sun made his red coat shine, the white spotting across his back contrasting sharply. He held his head a little higher, feeling more confident now. If only he could get his mane to behave, the damn thing was as wild and unruly as a cubs. Actually, he'd seen a few cubs with neater manes than him. Curse those curls!
Pushing the narcissistic thoughts away for the moment, he tried to start up a conversation. "So, what's it like in Sunbaked? I don't want to accidentally offend anyone, but being the dummy I am I probably will," he joked, smiling complacently.

The caracal clawed her way onto the shore, gently shaking out her pelt before letting the little cub down. Tall grass towered before them, but Nukpani could just see over the tops. "Hmm... now where to go from here!" she said, walking forward. She made sure to flatten the grass behind her so Kajakafwile could follow, but she didn't quite know where she was going herself.

Kajakafwile plopped on the ground gently and waddled after his Mom. "Mommy, will you teach me how to hunt? I want to be as strong as daddy one day!" he mewled, his very short tail slowly swaying happily. He jumped up and down behind her as they walked.
Maybe they'd meet Daddy along the way! He really hoped that would happen!

Rather than return to the Lushlands, where Alibaster's body was, Anan instead went to the Tallhair Savanna after swimming across the river. As he left the water, he shook out his pelt and sighed, walking further onto dry land. He had no idea what might be here, but he didn't care. Not yet, anyway. Little did he know, there was a little caracal with her adopted son right nearby.

Nukpani smiled as she walked, Kajakafwile speaking of hunting. "Of course, my dearest. All in due time," she purred, keeping her pace even so as to not leave the kitten in the dust. The scent of a carcass tickled the caracal's nose, and her stomach growled in response. "Come, Kajaka, I need to eat, and so do you," she said quietly, approaching the scent's source.
Before them laid a male lion, dead of unknown causes. He had no wounds, and for a moment Nukpani believed he was only asleep. But the sunken stomach on the creature gave away his fatal status. Nukpani grinned widely, padding up to the carcass. She bent her head, sinking her teeth into the softened flesh and eating her fill.
Muzzle bloodied from her feast, the caracal turned to look at her kitten. "Kajaka, I suppose now would be a good time to show you how we eat," she chuckled, approaching him. Another scent hit her nose, and her ears perked up in alarm. Someone else was here. But were they a lion or a leopard?
Pale green eyes darted around, the female standing protectively over Kajakafwile. "Shhh, don't talk. Someone's near," she whispered, looking around. The caracal wasn't worried about herself, but rather for the little kitten beneath her. Her muscles tensed, ready to defend herself.

Kajakafwile giggled out of happiness, he'd be learning hunting soon! "Yes mommy" he mewled as Nukpani told him to eat. He bounded after her, to find a dead lion, like the one they had at Crocodile Island! He slowly crawled to the carcass, this one was big! He sniffed it gingerly, his head tilted to the side.
He looked up at Nukpani as she chuckled and he giggled, smiling. He'd get to eat meat! Although he did prefer milk for the time being, meat was pretty good the last time he tried it. Though, it was really hard to chew! He was about to speak again when Nukpani stood defensively over him and told him not to speak.
He shook a little, his tiny body shaking with fear. He pressed against one of Nukpani's leg, looking up at her face even though he could only see the underside of her chin. He stayed quiet like Nukpani had told him to.

Anan could smell blood and it made his stomach rumble, but as the scent sunk in he couldn't help but shudder. It was too similar to his own kind. Groaning, he lowered his head and began slowly walking, hoping maybe he'd find some other type of food eventually. And what do you know, he soon stumbled upon a potential meal! He caught sight of the two caracals and froze, eyes blinking as he stared down at the tiny cats. It looked like a mother and son, and they looked as though they had just finished feasting on a dead lion.
Yet despite the fact that they could have been a tasty meal for the hungry leopon, the idea of killing and eating them somehow didn't occur to him. Instead, he just pinned his ears back and stepped away. "Oh. I'm sorry if I scared you." He ducked his head, looking away. He was still feeling rather depressed after his failed reunion with his siblings, so that probably added to his lack of desire to hunt.

As a....thingy, jumped out of the bushes, Kajakafwile had no idea what it was! He stayed under his mother's protection before speaking "What are you?" he asked, slowly leaning over, head tilted to the side and observing the er, thingy.
The little kitten had NO idea what on earth this thing is! It had a mane, like a lion, but he had spots like....well like something else! He was pretty big, but he looked really cool! The caracal smiled at him before asking "What's your name?" he said.

Nukpani heard the sound grow louder, the scent of an unknown animal thickening in the air. After a moment, someone came into view, but Nukpani didn't exactly know what it was. It had the body and coat of a leopard, but a red mane, much like a lion. It was likely some sort of hybrid, and Nukpani instantly felt threatened by the larger cat.
He apologized for frightening the pair, and before the caracal could speak, Kajakafwile spoke up anyways. He asked what he was and what his name was, and Nukpani curled defensively around him, nodding. "Your name?" she asked, her voice very low.
