So, I told this to the admin a while back, but she left before she was able to give me a straight answer.
What I had told her was that, with birthing you not only have to roll for how many cubs you have, but maybe a strength roll to keep the cubs alright. Like, maybe it has to be a certain number and up to not have mutations with a cub.
I kind of like this idea, cause if you don't get a high enough number, a cub could be missing a toe, or maybe a shorter tail. Perhaps even missing an ear or an extra head ((cause why not??))

So basically you're just asking about complications and mutations? I've actually already discussed this a little bit with another player. Since mutations do happen in the wild, I will allow them if a player wants one of their cubs to have a mutation. The only thing is that they must be realistic, and you just can't go overboard. We see some severe mutations in captivity, but in the wild, these animals would most likely die, so you'd have to keep that in mind.
As for other complications, players can already have complications in birth if they so choose. However, if you want something random, I've actually been already thinking about this. Rolling a dice or something to see if an animal has complications. The only problem would then be, how would this complication affect the mother? There's a lot of things that could happen. I'd just have to think further on it.
